Salary: £50-65k
Seatfrog is here to make rail better. Because more, happier passengers makes for a better, happier world. And who doesn’t want that?
Born out of a hellishly uncomfortable train journey, we know how frustrating train travel can be. So we're on a mission to build a better future for billions of passengers and the rail companies. Our app is the only place you can bid to upgrade your train ticket to First Class. And we’ve created a family of products that’s disrupting the industry to offer travellers a more convenient, cost-effective and unrivalled experience.
The Role
We're now looking for an experienced Revenue Optimisation Analyst to join the team, collaborating proactively with Revenue Management teams across our existing Train Operating Companies (TOCs), and internally within Seatfrog. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimising pricing strategies to maximise revenue, yield, inventory & profitability. This role is perfect for someone with a commercial or sales background who will work to maximise total addressable market for auction availability and enhance overall revenue / yield performance through data-driven insights and strategic initiatives.
This is a brand new role so we need someone with a strong analytical mindset and an ability to think outside the box, whilst focusing on commercial innovation and refinement.
About the teams you'll be joining
You'll join the Finance & Data Function, reporting into our Senior Data Analyst, Ben. You'll work alongside Lisa, our Data Analyst who partners Marketing, and you'll probably spend a lot of time partnering Commercial, specifically with our Strategic Client Director, Andy, who manages all of those lovely TOC relationships. While Andy manages those partnerships at a strategic level, you'll be working with your counterparts at the TOCs to define a pricing strategy that is a win for everyone.
What you'll do
- Work with existing TOCs and their Revenue Management teams to understand their commercial objectives, pricing models, and market dynamics
- Collaborate internally with Sales & CSM to create revenue generating business cases for TOCs and partners
- Develop and implement dynamic pricing strategies, tailored to market conditions, customer demand, and business goals
- Monitor and analyse pricing structures and revenue performance, identifying areas for improvement in yield and fare optimisation
- Utilise advanced demand forecasting models to predict customer behaviour, guide pricing decisions, and track performance against revenue targets
- Leverage data analytics tools to monitor sales trends, customer booking patterns, and market conditions, making proactive adjustments to pricing strategies as needed.
- Continuously seek new technologies and refine the Seatfrog revenue management processes, including automation and dynamic pricing techniques.
- Present revenue performance updates, insights, and strategy recommendations to senior management, contributing to the broader commercial strategy.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics or related field, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience (3-4 years) in revenue management, pricing, or commercial strategy, ideally within the travel industry
- Experience in a start up or scale up environment, prioritising tasks, and delivering under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of pricing methodologies, demand forecasting, and yield management principles
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualisation tools and languages including SQL Tableau (or equivalent), and Excel (Python is a bonus)
- Experience using revenue management system, and pricing and revenue optimisation software
- Influencing and collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders
What's on offer
- An outstanding team culture, where we solve problems together to drive the best possible results
- Remote first: work from home most of the time, with 1 day per month in London (and an office near Liverpool Street to use as much as you like)
- A competitive salary
- A 4 day working week to ensure the best possible work/life blend (hello 3 day weekends!)
- Private healthcare plan via Aviva, with added gym discounts and incentives to encourage you to get out, get active and stay mentally and physically healthy
- A benefits package that includes salary sacrifice childcare benefit, enhanced parental leave, electric vehicle leasing scheme, and free upgrades with our rail partners
- Engaging, all expenses paid monthly team days to connect and collaborate
We're currently taking a flexible approach to where our team work - we have a great office near Liverpool St should you wish to use it, but we welcome applications from across the UK, as many of us work remote first.
The use of AI in your application
We know that AI is here to stay, and we're embracing it. We're also happy for candidates to use AI in their applications in a way that makes sense. Having reviewed hundreds of applications over the past 6 months, we're now very good at spotting when someone has simply asked ChatGPT to "write me a cover letter for this role at Seatfrog" - the CVs, cover letters, and answers to screening questions all take the same format. With this in mind, we're formally asking you to show us who you are in your application. AI should enhance, refine, and optimise how you communicate, but it should never completely replace your voice. We're not asking for paragraphs of prose, we just want to hear from you, authentically.
